| Seven reasons to love September. |
| 1. |
It’s still hot! The average high temperature in September is 27°, just 2° lower than in August. |
| 2. |
Did we mention it’s still hot? The average sea temperature is just 1° lower than in August, and swimming pools are typically warmer than in June and the start of July. |
| 3. |
It’s cost effective! You can save up to a third on the cost of your holiday accommodation when compared to July and August. |
| 4. |
It’s quiet. As children drag their parents back to school time, or should that be the other way round, the island calms down giving you more time and space to relax. |
| 5. |
Palma is buzzing with things to see and do. The capital city plays host to a myriad of art exhibitions including the Terracotta Army Exhibition. If you haven’t experienced Palma yet, you really must do so, and for those of you that have an evening departure from Mallorca, it is a great way to spend your last day. |
| 6. |
It’s melon harvest time. Vilafranca de Bonany kicks off the start of the harvest festivals across the island with a celebration of the humble and often underrated melon, the delectable fig, and a great variety of other seasonal fruits. The festival takes place in the second week of September. |
| 7. |
Its grape harvest time! The last week of September sees the wine growing region of Binissalem play host to the Fiesta des Vermar, a celebration of the grape harvest. Festivities include a giant paella, grape treading contest, a grape fight and a huge dinner for all in the town square, all washed down with plenty of wine to boot. |
