"I know people are very quick to complain when things go wrong on their holiday but not so quick to praise when everything goes well. I wanted to tell your company that we had a wonderful time at Barrio. We were there from 4th to 11th September. The house itself is lovely. We were 7 adults and 1 toddler of a year. The bedrooms were good, some of them fantastic. We did have a problem with the mattresses in the top twin room - the one with the balcony but a word to our fantastic rep, Julie, and new mattresses arrived the same day. The downstairs bedrooms are exceptionally spacious - we've not had a villa with so much wardrobe and drawer room and a great number of hangers.
The kitchen is good, if I'm being really picky it could do with a few more sensible sized cereal bowls and more cutlery but there was a lot of storage room and the cooking facilities were good. Where the Villa really excels is in the beautiful gardens and the pool area. The garden was amazing, much larger than we had imagined. There was someone there every other day looking after the grass and the shrubs. Sitting on the terrace looking over towards the pool gave a stunning view. The pool itself and surround was excellent, our toddler loved it and enjoyed the shallow part of the pool. The amount of pool furniture is excellent with plenty of sun loungers.
The terrace outside the house with its huge table for outside dining and then the lovely curved leather seating was lovely. Many pleasant hours were spent reading in the shade of the terrace.
The rep, as I have mentioned was amazing. We mentioned that a couple of the light bulbs had gone and that there were only about 4 teaspoons in the cutlery drawer. Later that day Julie appeared changed two of the bulbs, gave us a dozen teaspoons and said that one of the outside wall lights needed an electrician to sort it out. He came later the same day.
When Julie was there I said that apart from one pair of tongs there were no BBQ implements, we were managing fine but she might want to think about it for the next occupants. Early that evening, one her way home, Julie dashed in and sure enough, new implements had arrived. We cannot praise her too highly.
So, as you can gather we had a wonderful time at Barrio and would be more than happy to recommend it and indeed, if the opportunity arises to return there ourselves. We had a smooth journey; the only thing we took a little time to sort out was to find the Riog people at the airport. It would be helpful to have the Riog name along with the other car hire people at the ground floor of the car park. The directions we were given to get to the villa were excellent, we managed it with no problem at all.
We were last in Mallorca 17 years ago and rented a villa, from another company, the other side of the main road going towards Puerto Pollensa. We thought that one, at the time, was lovely but Barrio beats it hands down. So thank you to everyone who helped to make our holiday such a success."
